Thank much for the app. Definitely it’s a good thing to start with. Is there a plan to add xls or pdf in the near future? I think pdf is support natively by the OSX, yet not sure how hard to incorporate to the app thou. I’m inexperience with OSX programming
I Love it. I always liked The big G and Apple together. That’s a good look. Apple just approved this app by the way guys so it’s in the AppStore at this moment. Hit Me!
Unfortunately this does not work as advertised, it opens my docs fine and what not, but if I open a document, then close the app, turn on Airplane Mode, and re-open the app and try to open that document, I get Error -1099, and the document just has the spinning circle and does not actually load the document. I was connecting by 3G not WiFi, if that makes a difference.
Things I’d love (besides the ability to edit and rename)
1. Folder support for Google Doc folders
2. Button to update a document without opening it, so I can do a string of them at once, or a “download all” button
3. Some kind of visual notification that this doc has been cached, so I know which I’ve opened and which I haven’t.
Great idea and very excited to get it fully working!
Maybe I don’t understand what the intent is, but as ‘Steve’ says, if I am not connected to the internet I get the document titles, but not the contents.
@ bobinnv The current version available on the iPhone App Store has a bug in the offline availability. But the updated version 0.6 is already “In Review” by Apple. So just wait till the update is available trough the appstore.
All of the other apps currently available for transferring documents to the Iphone/Ipod Touch require a wireless network.
Am I correct in understanding that in order to use Mightydocs, all I need to do is post the document online on GoogleDocs, then go a wifi hotspot and use the Safari browser on my Ipod Touch to connect to that website, open the documents, and–voila!–they are magically transported to my Ipod Touch for offline viewing?
Is that how it is (theoretically) supposed to work? If so, count me in!
It would be great to be able to view pdf files, too (hint, hint.) Thanks.
Quick security question - is my G pw kept only on the iphone and used only by the app to ping my account directly, or is there an intervening server? Do you collect any info from users’ phones? I’m not paranoid, it’s just that I’m reluctant to throw my G pw around to small developers I don’t know.
This just doesn’t work at all for me. I have 3 PDF files in my Google Docs space but they dont’t even show up in the MiGhty Docs app. The application just connects without reporting any problem but no files are shown.
Hi man!…. This is the perfect application for guys like me that work everything in the cloud and the perfect companion for Google Docs off course. I truly believe that just add the folder browsing capability and we are DONE!
Thanks a lot for your effort and we are waiting for more of your Apps that is clear that going to roock! Thanks!
I loaded a txt file into Google Docs and then opened it on the iPhone using Safari, but nothing appears in MightyDocs. Any ideas? Also, if MightyDocs is reading the file from the iPhone, why does it need my Google loggin and password?
I got it to work! Apparently it doesn’t consider a file to be a txt file just because it has a txt extension. It were a little less fussy and read any file as a text file.
I’m still wondering why it needs my Google loggin and password.
OK. Never mind. So you don’t really need to open the document from Safari. Just put the document in Google Docs, remove the formatting and then run MightyDocs on your iPhone. Very cool. Thanks!

I’m right now trying to work something out with the OTA Google and iPhone sync.

@Nigel Nguyen Yes there are plans to implement that in one of the future versions.
@Lassina Let me know if you have something worked out!

“I always liked The big G and Apple together.”
I think you’re missing it (or I’m seeing what no one else does..)
MiGhtyDocs..
What’s capitalized there?
MGD. Damn right.

I was surprised iPhone/itouch didn’t
support file caching. This nicely fills
a surprising gap in ipod touch
capability.
Still, would like to see spreadsheets
and presentations, in that order,
supported.
And why is it we can’t edit gdocs,
even in safari?
I’m a bit puzzled by apples policies
but therein lies another opportunity
for app add one.
Regards.

How long after I upload a file to googledocs before I can download it to my iphone? My iphone keeps telling me that there are no documents out there.
